Bamboo products can be used indoors and outdoors. When used outdoors, it is very important to do regular maintenance just like with any outdoor wood or metal products. Washing the bamboo furniture with detergent mixed with anti-mildew additives is strongly encouraged at least once every 6 months. More may be needed if you live in a wet climate. Placing your bamboo products in dry places will also help better keep it intact. Covering or moving the bamboo indoors during the off season is also a great way to prolong the life of your bamboo products in the outdoors.

Our bamboo products are made of natural bamboo with coats of outdoor varnish. However, in strong sunlight, the varnish will breakdown and the bamboo will begin to weather to a light silver-grey color, so shaded areas are recommended for placing your bamboo products, unless you like the faded, rustic, look!

We recommend a coat of UV protection outdoor varnish once a year, preferably at the end of summer to maintain its color.

Bamboo should last many years in the outdoors with proper care and maintenance.

Do not worry if you see that your bamboo product has split slightly. It is completely normal for bamboo to split, as it is its nature to do so, but still remain structurally strong. However, it is important to prevent it from further splitting by tightly tying both ends of the split sections using galvanized or copper wires.
You need to properly clean the bamboo structure with detergent and anti-mildew solution, as well as layering it with a coat of linseed oil (mixed with 50% thinner is recommended) for extra protection.
Proper placing of your bamboo product is also important. Placing your bamboo products in dry places will help better keep it intact. Covering or moving the bamboo indoors during the off season is also a great way to prolong the life of your bamboo products in the outdoors.
